Why does God only answer prayers when there's the possibility of coincidence?

I noticed that in the Bible, people still didn't believe in God even when he went out of his way to answer prayers when there are no alternative explanations possible (parting the sea, raising the dead, walking on water, healing the blind, etc.). So I guess that Jesus just got tired of helping us ingrates.
