Are the mountains on the northern and southern site of the valley safe?

Listen lighten up. I just got back from a "scary" walk after dark. I saw coyotes, a bobcat no snakes they come out in the Am and dusk hours. If I feel scared because the animals are too close I have a horn. That is right the Cell phone reception is bad. So do not go there if it bothers. The whole reason we have parks and open space is to make space for wild things. I feel safer in park than in a parking lot in down town LA.
