About to be made homeless ?

A friend of my boyfriends has been given notice that her and her family need to vacate the property they have been living in for four years as the landlord needs to move back in. They live with her mother-in-law who has been given a council flat now because of this. She has two children under the age of 18 and her husband has recently been made bankrupt. She wants to know if she is also eligible for council housing as she has no where to live and has two children ? What does she need to do ? Can anyone advise ?
